At Mary Howard Primary, we recently had the delightful opportunity to welcome Pep the Poet into our school. The excitement was palpable as pupils and staff gathered to experience the magic of poetry through Pep’s engaging performances.
From the moment he stepped onto the stage, Pep captivated our audience with his infectious energy and passion for words. He introduced a variety of poems that not only entertained but also encouraged everyone to participate actively. The pupils were thrilled to listen to Pep recite his poems, and they quickly joined in, acting out the verses with enthusiasm and laughter.
One of the highlights of the day was the way Pep invited pupils to play with words. Through games and interactive activities, he demonstrated how poetry can be a fun and creative outlet. The joy of rhyming and the rhythm of the verses resonated with everyone, fostering a deeper appreciation for the beauty of language.
As the session unfolded, it became clear that Pep's visit was not just about poetry; it was about sparking imagination and encouraging self-expression. Pupils left the assembly inspired, with smiles on their faces and a newfound enthusiasm for writing and performing their own poems.
In line with our vision at The Mease Federation, where we aim for every pupil to 'grow and flourish', Pep the Poet’s visit was a perfect example of how creative experiences can nurture our children’s love for learning. We look forward to seeing how this inspiration will blossom in our classrooms as pupils continue to explore the world of poetry.
Thank you, Pep, for a memorable day filled with laughter, creativity, and the joy of words! We can’t wait to welcome you back in the future.
