Parachute!
We displayed some fantastic teamwork playing a variety of games with the parachute. Our favourite was when we had to go underneath and swap places with a partner!
Investigating absorbency and water play
We have continued our work in everyday materials in Science and tested a range of materials for absorbency. Some great observations and discussions! Then we went outside for some hands-on water play. Fantastic collaborative learning in action!
Planting seeds
We have been busy this week planting seeds in our outdoor area. It was a fantastic opportunity to talk about how plants and flowers grow and what we need to do to look after them!
Spring has arrived!
With the arrival of Spring we have taken the opportunity to be learning outside. There are so many skills we can develop outside the classroom so we look forward to the warmer weather!
Making biscuits
Pig the Pug watched us completed our final task for “Travelling Tales.” We decorated some special Pug biscuits ready for Ralph’s visit later this week!
DT Paper sculptures
This week in Design Technology we created sculptures using paper! We tried out techniques for rolling, folding and fastening the paper to the base.
Shape poems
In English we have been creating shape poems! We looked at lots of examples together and discussed the structure. Then we chose our favourite fruits and created vocabulary lists to describe them.
Developing Role Play
This week we have enjoyed playing in the house role play as we have been gifted some new baby dolls. We are so pleased with our new babies and accessories. We have enjoyed dressing and pushing the prams with our babies in.

Man on the Moon: writing in Reception
The children created a story map of Man on the Moon to explain Bob’s busy day. Then Reception wrote sentences about Bob, segmenting and blending sounds to help with spelling.
Teeth
In Science we looked at carnivores, herbivores and omnivores and the teeth they have for their diets. This led us to thinking about our own teeth and how we should care for them!
