In PE, Oak Class began their cricketing topic by establishing the ready position! The children learned how to do a successful close catch and deep catch and considered when each would be used.
Double numbers
This week Reception have been exploring double numbers and looking at patterns. It always helps to learn new things in a practical way!
Grecian Times!
Oak Class finalised their writing by publishing their newspaper reports this week! The children reported on the subterfuge of the Trojan Horse, which was carefully constructed by General Odysseus and his Spartan soldiers! An excellent final piece of work to end the half term, well done Oak!
Invitations to play
We have lots of activities set up in Maple class to provide independent learning opportunities. We aim to spark curiosity, imagination, autonomy and teamwork. Here are some examples of some recent invitations to play.
Parachute!
We displayed some fantastic teamwork playing a variety of games with the parachute. Our favourite was when we had to go underneath and swap places with a partner!
Investigating absorbency and water play
We have continued our work in everyday materials in Science and tested a range of materials for absorbency. Some great observations and discussions! Then we went outside for some hands-on water play. Fantastic collaborative learning in action!
