Team Building
Our PE this term is all about team building! Today we played a variety of games and worked through challenges. We had to solve problems, share ideas, listen to each other and work together!
Creating texture
We have been busy creating texture tiles using paint and a range of materials. Next week we will put them together to create collages.
Pass the parcel
We played pass the parcel with a twist - each layer had a picture from The Easter story and we used them to retell the story in the correct order. This really helped us to make sense of main events and understand why it is so important for Christians.
Features of a non-chronological report
We have been identifying features of non-chronological reports so that we can create our own about lions, tigers and leopards!
World Book Day
We celebrated World Book Day in style with lots of amazing costumes! Parents joined us too for Rock up and Read!
Length and height
Our maths topic this week has been length and height. We have completed lots of practical activities and used vocabulary such as longer, taller and shorter to compare measures. Year 2 completed some accurate measuring with a ruler and estimated length in metres.
Life in colour
A busy afternoon exploring and mixing colours! We created colour wheels by mixing primary colours. We gradually added black and white to create shades and tints.
Safari camp
Inspired by Tinga Tales from Africa, we have a safari camp role play area! Everyone loves camping in the tent, using the maps, binoculars and props. Lots of opportunities for imaginative play!
Safer Internet Day
For Safer Internet Day we looked at spotting scams and how to play online games safely. We helped Digi-duck make the right choices! We also explored how to create safe passwords and followed a recipe to make our own!
Design Technology: Puppets
This half term we have been exploring textiles. We looked at different ways of joining fabric and created designs to make our own story puppets! Today we put all our learning together to create our puppets. Look how closely our designs match the finished product! Thanks Mrs Wardale for all your…
Tamworth Castle
A fantastic trip to Tamworth Castle today! It really helped our historical knowledge and study of castles! We helped one of the servants to prepare a knight ready for battle. We helped Lady Ferrers to get ready for a banquet. We explored each part of the castle and walked the walls, it was amazing…
Super synonyms!
In English we have been looking at a variety of emotion words for characters in our story “The day the crayons quit.” We used a thesaurus to find synonyms to include in our final letters to Duncan.
