Money, money, money!
Year 2 have almost finished a maths unit about money! They have been counting coins and notes, choosing the correct coins to pay for an item and solving problems. Our supermarket role play area helped with this too. Well done Year 2!
Year 2 Supertato
In English we have been creating character descriptions about Evil Pea!
Year 2 thought of some amazing adjectives and synonyms. They used them to create expanded noun phrases.
Christmas dinner!

Getting ready for Christingle
The whole school came together to prepare our Christingles ready for our service in church.
Children were able to explain the meaning behind each part and helped each other.
Christmas Post Office
Our Christmas Post Office role play area is now open! The children have loved exploring the resources and using their imaginations! There are lots of opportunities for writing too!
Advent
As part of our topic about festivals of light, we have been exploring the meaning and symbolism of Advent. We worked together to create our own Advent wreath and Year 2 wrote some fantastic Advent prayers.
Phonics and spelling
Reception have been working hard in their daily phonics sessions. They are beginning to segment words into sounds and have a go at spelling without any help!
Circles and triangles
Reception have been looking at 2d shapes and identifying circles and triangles. They used fantastic language to describe them such as “triangles have corners” and “circles are round.” We had a go at printing some circle collages to help with our descriptions.
Using an atlas
In Geography we have been identifying features on maps. We looked at how to use an atlas to help us find information. We looked at maps of the United Kingdom and worked out if statements were true or false. Great teamwork!
