11 April 2025

On Thursday, April 10th, our children had the incredible opportunity to represent Mary Howard Primary School at the KS2 Swimming Gala Finals held at the Snowdome. From 6 PM to 8 PM, the atmosphere was electric as competitors from 28 schools gathered to showcase their swimming talents and sportsmanship.
Our young swimmers performed exceptionally well, demonstrating not only their skills but also their dedication and teamwork. We are thrilled to announce that several of our children achieved podium finishes, securing medals for second and third place in their respective events. This accomplishment is a testament to their hard work and commitment to excellence in swimming.
Despite being a smaller school, our children faced off against much larger primary settings, showcasing their resilience and determination. Out of 28 competing schools, we proudly secured 9th place overall. This achievement is particularly remarkable given the size of our school and the fierce competition we encountered. It reflects the potential and talent of our children, who continue to inspire us with their achievements both in and out of the pool.
Participating in events like the KS2 Swimming Gala is not just about winning medals; it is about building confidence, fostering teamwork, and encouraging a love for physical activity. Swimming is a vital skill that promotes health and well-being, and our children have embraced this opportunity wholeheartedly.
The experience of competing at such a prestigious event will undoubtedly motivate our children to continue improving their swimming skills and to pursue their passions in sports. We are proud of each participant for their effort, sportsmanship, and the way they represented our school community.
We would like to extend our gratitude to the parents our children in their preparation for this event. Your encouragement and dedication have played a crucial role in their success.
As we reflect on this fantastic evening, we are reminded of our school’s vision to help every child grow and flourish. Events like the KS2 Swimming Gala not only enhance our children’s physical abilities but also instil valuable life skills such as perseverance, teamwork, and self-confidence.
We are excited about future events and competitions, and we look forward to seeing our children continue to excel in swimming and other sports. Together, we will keep nurturing their talents and fostering a love for learning and physical activity.
Congratulations to all our swimmers! You have made us incredibly proud!
