Welcome to Mary Howard C.E. Primary School

We’re delighted to have you visit our website.

It is with great joy that I welcome you to Mary Howard C.E. Primary School. Here we are proud of our Christian vision of ‘Grow and Flourish’, inspired by the Parable of the Mustard Seed, which guides our community each and every day. Every member of our school family is cherished and encouraged to develop into the person God calls them to be.

At Mary Howard, our core Christian values of koinonia, wisdom, love and perseverance are at the heart of all we do. These values shape our school ethos, drive our curriculum and help us foster a nurturing environment where children and adults feel respected, supported and inspired to reach their full potential.

Our curriculum is broad, balanced and ambitious, designed to build on prior knowledge and equip our pupils with the skills and confidence they need for future success. We aim to nurture confident, independent and passionate learners who are ready for life beyond the classroom.

We place great importance on community, spiritual development and personal growth, ensuring every child experiences life in all its fullness as they grow and flourish with us.

About Us

The parable of the mustard seed (Matthew 13: 31-32) inspires us that even from very small beginnings, something amazing can grow.

‘Sowing the Seeds of tomorrow; growing in the light of the Lord’

At Mary Howard, we are aspirational for the future of all our pupils and adults, in that they will learn how to 'grow and flourish' as healthy and fulfilled individuals who are passionate about life and learning. Each of us is a unique individual and, like the mustard seed, we all have the potential to grow and to flourish. At Mary Howard, every member of our school community is valued and cherished; both as an individual and for the contribution they make to the schools and the wider communities. Big things can come from small beginnings; who knows what great things our children will go on to achieve in the future?

Our Values

Our school is committed to serving its community and surrounding areas, and to celebrating the diversity of the UK.  We recognise the multi-cultural, multi-faith nature of the United Kingdom and understand the crucial role our school plays in promoting these values.  We encourage admissions from all those entitled to education under British law regardless of faith, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, political or financial status. We are a school for all.

We aim to prepare pupils for life in modern Britain and to ensure that our school ethos, curriculum and approaches to teaching and learning reflect and promote British values. We understand the role that our school has in helping prevent radicalisation and supporting our pupils in developing a world view, recognising Britain’s place within it.
