Maple Class Community Walk in Edingale

Today, Maple Class took a wonderful walk around the village of Edingale to explore and understand the different groups that make up our community.

For our Year 3 children, the focus was on identifying the various groups and people who contribute to the life of our village. The children enjoyed seeing firsthand how these groups come together to create a vibrant and supportive community.

Our Year 4 children went a step further by learning about the important contributions these groups make. They discovered how places like the school, the village hall, and the church act as the heart of the community, providing spaces for learning, gathering, and worship.

We also visited some historical landmarks such as the old pub and the old post office, which helped the children appreciate how the community has evolved over time and the role these places once played in village life.

This walk was a fantastic way for the children to connect with their local area, develop a sense of belonging, and understand the value of community spirit.

We look forward to continuing our learning journey about the people and places that make Edingale special!
