Remembrance
Oak Class wrote some beautiful prayers for Remembrance Day, which are hung on our prayer tree in the reflection area. Some children even shared their prayers with members of our village community in Reverend Nicky’s church service on Tuesday!
Character Inference
Oak Class had great fun being detectives this lesson! After learning more about who they may encounter in the Land of Oz, the children had to work out which emotion belonged to which character based on the clues in the text!
Making predictions!
Oak Class began the half term by making predictions about their new book! The children were given images of mystery items from the text and had to consider who the items might be used by and what for. The classroom was fizzing with excitement for our new unit!
Evacuation Teddies!
Oak Class concluded their DT learning this half term by stuffing their evacuation teddy bears and finishing their blanket stitches! The children then evaluated their final products - an excellent unit of work that required lots of perseverance. Well done, Oak Class!

Stuffed Toy Templates
After learning how to sew a blanket stitch, Oak Class selected their felt and cut their teddy templates in preparation for sewing their stuffed toys!
Water Resistance
Oak Class learned about the force, water resistance and tested its effect through a practical investigation. We worked together to explore if the surface area of an object affects the time taken for an object to sink before concluding our findings!
