We linked our work in English and Design Technology to help Mrs Wardale make pumpkin soup. We chopped the vegetables and did some taste tests! Yum!

Willow Class has been diving into the amazing world of colour theory, and we've discovered a fantastic way to make our artwork jump right off the page: tints and shades! This skill is a fundamental building block for artists and is key to making flat drawings look three-dimensional (3D).

Today we worked outside in the playground. In Geography we have been looking at maps and how symbols help us to find places. We created our own symbols for each area of the playground. Super teamwork! 

After learning how to sew a blanket stitch, Oak Class selected their felt and cut their teddy templates in preparation for sewing their stuffed toys!

Oak Class learned about the force, water resistance and tested its effect through a practical investigation. We worked together to explore if the surface area of an object affects the time taken for an object to sink before concluding our findings!

We have started off the term looking at Traditional Tales. Year 1 have been working on constructing sentences with capital letters and full stops.
